Almost everyone who rides with us has never driven a buggy. The briefing, the practice loop on flat ground and the guide's pacing exist precisely for that. Tell us if anyone in your group is nervous and we plan the route around them rather than around the fastest rider.
Arrive in closed shoes and long trousers, and leave fifteen minutes of slack before your departure time so the briefing is unhurried. We supply the helmet, goggles and, in winter, gloves.
If the wind picks up to the point where visibility on the dunes drops, we shorten the route or move your ride to another slot. We never charge you for a tour that could not run.

No. Our tours are guided and take place off public roads, so no driving licence is required. Drivers must be at least 18 years old.
Drivers must be 18 or over. Children aged 5 and over can ride as passengers on a two-seat buggy with an adult driver.
€110 for a two-seat buggy for the one-hour Erg Chebbi ride, all inclusive. Longer routes are quoted per buggy on request.
No. The buggies are automatic — throttle and brake, no gears. You get a briefing and a practice loop, and the group rides at the pace of the least confident rider.
A one-hour ride takes about 90 minutes door to door once you add pickup, the briefing and photo stops.
Sunrise and the two hours before sunset. The light is best, the temperature is comfortable and the dunes are empty. In July and August we only ride at those times.
Yes, when it is guided. We supply helmets, brief every group, keep the pace matched to the terrain and never leave a rider behind. Accidents in the dunes come from riding unguided and too fast.
Closed shoes, long trousers, a long-sleeved top and sunglasses. Add a scarf for your face and a warm layer between November and February.
Yes. We run tours every day of the year, including Ramadan and the winter months. Winter mornings are cold but the riding conditions are excellent.
Yes, anywhere in Merzouga, Hassilabied and the immediate area. Tell us the name of your accommodation and we confirm a pickup time.
Yes. A two-seat buggy carries a driver and one passenger for €110 total on the one-hour ride.
The guide stops at the best viewpoints and is happy to take photos with your phone. Keep your phone zipped away while actually riding — fine sand gets everywhere.
We shorten the route, move you to a later slot or cancel at no cost. Safety decides, not the schedule.
A day or two is usually enough. In high season, and for the sunset slot, book as soon as your dates are fixed.
Yes, and most people do. A buggy ride in the morning and a camel trek to a camp at sunset is the classic Merzouga day. Tell us what you have already booked and we fit around it.
